So Sweet Together

One of my biggest obstacles when it comes to scrapping Disney pictures is looking outside the box.
I have SO MUCH scrapping supplies that are Disney related and are typically, red, white, black and yellow.  Sometimes, it's really hard to use those colors for Disney.

But then sometimes, things just fall into place....

The Summer Fresh collection by Simple Stories seemed to work so well with this family photo.  I had to figure out how to use all the green in the photo.
The subtle bits of green in this collection were just perfect.  I didn't want to add much more green at all. And the red, blue and yellow were perfect.  I added some off white canvas behind the elements and just a few buttons.
I then used my Mickey Head punch to "Disney" up the whole page.
Just the right touch of Mickey!

Here is the the fun sketch from Sketchbook 365:

Star Struck

The first think on our Magic Kingdom to do list is to make sure we get our one on one meeting with Mickey.
I love that they changed things up and added a FastPass for a meeting.  We were able to spend a lot more time with him this trip.  And I was able to get LOTS of pictures of my idol.

I can't get the smile off my face!
I love meeting Mickey and it brings tears to my eyes!

Lots of goodies from the stash were used to bring this page together.
My inspiration was this sketch from  Sketches in  Thyme:

And a fun stash challenge from Kristi, which was to use glitter, chevrons and tape.
My title is glittered thickers, and I used lots of chevron patterned tapes.
Then for an extra bit of glitter, I used a glitter mist spray on the background.

I'm also using this page for the When You Wish Upon a Star challenge from Scrapfit.  :)

Have a magical day!!!

Animal Kingdom Lodge

We absolutely loved our resort!  Here are the last of the pictures from our first day there...lol.
The views were amazing!  The animals were fun!  And the kids were exhausted!

Here is the view of the grounds.  Love all the beautiful foliage!

I used this sketch from Stuck?!

This is view of the savannah from our balcony.  The giraffes were very active every day.  We spent a lot of time sitting outside watching them run around and enjoy their lunch.

I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap for my inspiration:

Walking around the grounds was beautiful and so relaxing.  We managed to find quite a few little spots to sit and relax and just enjoy our time together.

I played along with Authentique's sketch challenge for this one.
My banner was handcut and tied together with jute.

Just being silly and making sure the kids knew they were being watched by Disney Security.
I've (luckily) never seen one of these cars before.  I just had to add it to the scrapbook!

I flipped a fun sketch from Scrapbook Steals for this one:

After an early start leaving the house, a long flight, unpacking and exploring our resort, the little ones were all tuckered out.

The clock from this sketch from Creative Craft World was my starting point for this page.  I added a few little elements from a Nikki Sivils collection.  The doily was painted with a fun paint dauber.

Now I think these are the end of the pictures from THIS resort...lol.
We are ready to get a fresh start and enter the Magic Kingdom.

You have been forewarned...there are LOTS of pictures to come...and that's just from Main Street and the Entrance.

Looking forward to sharing our magical trip with you!

Have a magical day!

Just Chillin'

We are still hanging out at the resort.  What a wonderful place to stay!  I think this one just made our Top 3 list of resorts in Disney World.

Here is my daughter checking out a few places where she can sit and relax after a long day of commando touring:

The die cut piece behind the picture is actually a chipboard page from a mini album.  I was able to play with a paint dauber and then distressed it a bit with some gray inks.  The flowers are layered from a few different styles from the stash.  I also added a leftover chipboard bracket...no idea how I ended up with just one!
The twist to this challenge was to add washi tape to our pages.  I bought this chevron tape and the colors were perfect!  I'm added it to the list when I stock up.

This page is for the sketch challenge at Paper Secrets
The washi tape was the twist to the challenge.
Here is the sketch:

Off to stock up on washi tape!

Welcome to Our Room

My kids really love checking out every inch of our hotel room.  Lately, their favorite part is the writing desk, stationery and pens.  And they always check to make sure the Bible is there.

Here is my sketch inspiration from Nuts About Sketches:

And here is what we found when we entered our bedroom:

LOVE getting towel animals!  And Mickey towels are the BEST!!

Have a magical day!!!

Our First Resort Stop

One of our favorite things to do each Disney trip is to stay at a different resort each time.  This way we can explore everything that each resort has to offer and pick our favorite.

(So far, The Polynesian has the highest marks!)

Our first stop on this trip was the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  We booked a room with a savannah view and balcony.

Here we are on our way to the lodge, riding the Magical Express:

I used lots of fun circle stickers and a Mickey Magical Express sticker we got from the check-in desk.

Driving into the resort was beautiful!  Kinda tricky trying to get pictures of the resort signs from a moving bus!

I added a few maps:

And because I save EVERYTHING, I had to make a pocket page for all the resort info we received when we checked in.  This included maps, daily itinerary, restaurant info and our room confirmation and the final bill.  Everything is easily accessible for reference when we decide to go back again.

And for me, the first thing I like to do is check out the view from the balcony.  My little guy decided to sit with me for a while:

I used all My Mind's Eye goodies on this page.  Everything is from the Nostalgia collection.   And I used a fun sketch they provided too:

Now to work on the pictures from my view of the savannah!

Have a magical day!!!

WE'RE HERE!!

One of my Top Ten Resolutions for the New Year is to finish our 2012 Disney Vacation BEFORE we take our next trip!

I have been purging my stash for a few weeks now and I'm finally starting to notice it.
One of the things I did notice is that I save WAAAY too much paraphernalia from Disney!
Is that even possible??

I have to admit....yes, it is.

I managed to save so many maps, letters, stickers and paperwork that it was taking up way too much space.  So I have made it a goal to purge everything...either use it or lose it.

So here is a page I made with a hidden envelope to hide stuff...lol.
If you can't lose it, hide it!

The Mickey in the bottom corner was cut from a confirmation letter from our resort.
Behind the pictures is my envelope.  I just slipped in a regular manila envelope and used a chipboard piece to keep it closed.

Inside the envelope, I "hid" our brochure explaining how the Magical Express works, and our transportation vouchers, along with the confirmation letter.

Here is a close up:

Quick and simple, but after I chose what I was actually going to use, I got rid of the rest (sigh) and I felt accomplished!
It sure makes the organizing folder seem a little lighter.  :)

And to add to the fun, I used a sketch from Sketch N Scrap for my inspiration:

Off to make more room in the stash!

Have a magical day!!
